Week 5
This week we are reading “Me and Uncle Romie” by Claire Hartfield. We will focus on some vocabulary words in this story. It would be helpful if you will reinforce the meaning of these words at home with your child. Be sure to refer to the spelling rule described below. Please listen to your child read the spelling words aloud.

Spelling Rule: Suffixes -y, -ish, -hood, -ment
When -y, -ish, -hood, -ment is added to most
base words, the base word stays the same:
